The Automotive Technician (TaT) was established in 2007 by a team of aftermarket workshop operators to meet the growing demand for information and experience required to keep pace with rapidly accelerating vehicle technology.
The TaT motto of sharing information, knowledge and experience is the cornerstone of the business and has been responsible for the company’s success to date and growing acceptance by workshop owners and technicians across Australia and New Zealand.
TaT will gladly accept as members those technicians who share our philosophy.
Membership benefits and inclusion are:
TaT Magazine – Bi monthly technical magazine full of technical articles and tips straight off the workshop floor. Every article ever written in the magazine has been electronically logged on the TaT website so members can perform keyword searches for past articles.
Solutions database – TaT has an extensive database of documented diagnostic repair solutions. Members can search through the database by problem, fault code and vehicle. We currently have over 1500 documented diagnostic repair solutions and are adding 10 new cases every week.
Technical assistance – TaT provides a unique technical assistance platform where members receive a call back service to discuss the problem prior to the assistance request being shared with the entire membership. Every case is followed through to completion so the eventual solution can be archived into our solutions database and shared with fellow members.
Scan Data – Scan Data is a database of good scan tool and scope data. Members can download or print the good data and compare it to the bad data they have retrieved from the vehicle they are working on. We currently have stored data for over 2400 individual vehicle components, consisting of more than 12,000 individual files, and are averaging 13 new component additions every week.
Equipment reviews – Is a database of diagnostic tool and equipment reviews by members and the TaT technical team. It is an interactive database where members can add new equipment, independently review and rate equipment and request a review of a piece of equipment.
Diagnostic programs – TaT members get exclusive access to more than 20 diagnostic calculators and software programs ranging from volumetric efficiency right through to fuel pump volume requirement calculators.
