ABS Power Relay Output Short Circuit To Ground
C1114 — ABS Power Relay Output Short Circuit To Ground
System: Chassis | Type: Manufacturer-Specific | Make: Generic
C1114 is a manufacturer-specific chassis diagnostic trouble code. It belongs to the C-prefix family of codes, which covers chassis, braking, steering, suspension, or stability-control faults.
When C1114 is stored, the module has detected a short-circuit (voltage pulled to ground or to supply) in the monitored circuit.
Scanning & clearing: Chassis (C) codes are stored in the ABS, traction control, or stability-control modules. An enhanced or OEM-level scan tool is usually required to read and clear them.
C1114 is a manufacturer-specific code. The same code string on a different make may have a different meaning. Always confirm the code's definition against the vehicle's service information for the specific make and model under test.
This DTC is set when the ABS control module detects that the voltage level at the ABS power relay output terminal is lower than expected, indicating a potential short to ground. The ABS power relay supplies battery voltage to the hydraulic control unit, solenoid valves, and pump motor, so the module continuously monitors the integrity of this power supply circuit. If the voltage remains below a calibrated threshold for a set duration while the relay is commanded on, the fault is triggered and the module disables ABS operation as a protective measure. The driver will typically see the ABS warni...
