The climate control module monitors the solar radiation (sunload) sensor as part of the automatic HVAC strategy, using sunlight intensity to bias blower speed, mode door position, and target temperature on the side of the cabin facing the sun. DTC B1258 sets when the module detects an out of range, intermittent, or missing signal from the sunload sensor circuit, meaning the input voltage is not valid for current operating conditions.
