Code Information

The Body Control Module (BCM) monitors the electrical circuit that controls the decklid (trunk lid) release solenoid or actuator. DTC B1553 is set when the BCM detects battery voltage on the decklid release output when the BCM is not commanding the solenoid to operate. This indicates a short to battery somewhere in the wiring between the BCM and the solenoid, or an internal solenoid fault that is feeding voltage back into the control circuit.
