Code Information

The B1664 code is set by the Driver Seat Module (DSM) when it detects that the rear up/down motor of the driver power seat has stalled while a movement command is active. On eight way power seats the rear lift motor controls vertical adjustment of the back of the seat cushion independently of the front lift motor, allowing seat tilt adjustment. The DSM monitors motor current and run time during operation, and stores this DTC when the motor draws excessive current without producing motion or fails to reach the expected position within a calibrated time window.
