Code Information

The Body Control Module (BCM) or Generic Electronic Module (GEM) monitors the dome lamp input circuit, which carries the signal from the dome lamp switch and the door jamb switches used to control interior lighting. DTC B1685 is set when the BCM detects an electrical fault on the dome lamp input circuit, such as an open, a short, or a signal that falls outside of its expected operating range.
