Code Information

The Body Control Module (BCM) or Driver Seat Module monitors the driver seat recline forward switch input as part of the power seat adjustment system. DTC B1701 sets when the module detects an electrical fault in the recline forward switch circuit, such as an open circuit, a short to power, or a short to ground that prevents normal switch state recognition. The recline switch is a momentary contact switch within the master seat switch pack that signals the seat module to drive the recline motor forward through an H bridge driver.
