Code Information

The Restraints Control Module (RCM) monitors the airbag warning indicator lamp circuit to confirm that the SRS warning light on the instrument cluster is functioning correctly. DTC B1869 sets when the RCM detects an open circuit between itself and the airbag warning indicator lamp. The RCM applies a controlled signal to the indicator circuit and reads back the resulting voltage to verify continuity through the bulb and wiring, and if the expected return is missing an open is logged.
