Code Information

The front heated oxygen sensor on bank 2 (Sensor 1), the left cylinder bank, measures exhaust oxygen content and feeds the Engine Control Module (ECM) a switching voltage used to control closed loop fuel trim on that bank. A healthy narrow band sensor swings rapidly between roughly 0.1V (lean) and 0.9V (rich), crossing the 0.45V midpoint several times per second. DTC P1153 sets when the ECM detects this bank 2 sensor switching too infrequently, or staying biased rich or lean, over a calibrated interval during closed loop operation.
