Throttle motor open circuit
P1126 — Throttle motor open circuit
System: Powertrain | Type: Manufacturer-Specific | Make: Infiniti
P1126 is a manufacturer-specific powertrain diagnostic trouble code recorded for Infiniti vehicles. It belongs to the P-prefix family of codes, which covers engine, transmission, emissions, or fuel-system faults.
When P1126 is stored, the module has detected an open (broken or disconnected) electrical path in the monitored circuit.
Scanning & clearing: A generic OBD-II scan tool will usually read and clear powertrain (P) codes. For live data, freeze-frame capture, and bi-directional tests you may need a more capable scan tool that supports the vehicle's ECM protocol.
P1126 is a manufacturer-specific code. The same code string on a different make may have a different meaning. Always confirm the code's definition against the vehicle's service information for the specific make and model under test.
DTC P1126 relates to the throttle motor circuit within the electric throttle control actuator on Nissan and Infiniti vehicles. The Engine Control Module (ECM) drives the throttle motor and monitors the circuit, setting this code when it detects an open circuit condition, meaning current is not flowing as expected through the motor or its control wiring. An open motor winding, a broken or disconnected control wire, or a corroded connector that interrupts the circuit will all cause the ECM to register P1126. With the drive circuit open the motor cannot move the plate, so the throttle defaults to...
