Tandem TP Sensor
P1125 — Tandem TP Sensor
System: Powertrain | Type: Manufacturer-Specific | Make: Nissan
P1125 is a manufacturer-specific powertrain diagnostic trouble code recorded for Nissan vehicles. It belongs to the P-prefix family of codes, which covers engine, transmission, emissions, or fuel-system faults.
When P1125 is stored, the module has detected a sensor-related fault — the reported value from the named sensor is out of spec.
Scanning & clearing: A generic OBD-II scan tool will usually read and clear powertrain (P) codes. For live data, freeze-frame capture, and bi-directional tests you may need a more capable scan tool that supports the vehicle's ECM protocol.
P1125 is a manufacturer-specific code. The same code string on a different make may have a different meaning. Always confirm the code's definition against the vehicle's service information for the specific make and model under test.
The electronic throttle body on these Nissan vehicles uses a tandem throttle position sensor, which is two potentiometer type sensors built into one housing that output complementary signals so the ECM can cross check throttle plate position. DTC P1125 is set when the ECM detects an intermittent or non correlating signal between the two tandem throttle position sensors, meaning their readings no longer track each other within the expected relationship. This is commonly caused by worn sensor elements, an unstable reference voltage or ground, or intermittent wiring in the sensor circuit. Because...
