The Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) at the front, or upstream, position of bank 2 reports the oxygen content of the exhaust to the Engine Control Module (ECM) so it can trim fuelling and hold the mixture near stoichiometric. On Kia applications DTC P1154 relates to the transition behaviour of this sensor, setting when the ECM finds the rich to lean and lean to rich switching is too slow or the transition time ratio falls outside the expected window during the monitor period.
