Igniter Circuit - No. 1
P1300 — Igniter Circuit - No. 1
System: Powertrain | Type: Manufacturer-Specific | Make: Lexus
P1300 is a manufacturer-specific powertrain diagnostic trouble code recorded for Lexus vehicles. It belongs to the P-prefix family of codes, which covers engine, transmission, emissions, or fuel-system faults.
When P1300 is stored, the module has detected an electrical-circuit fault in the wiring, connector, or driver associated with the named component.
Scanning & clearing: A generic OBD-II scan tool will usually read and clear powertrain (P) codes. For live data, freeze-frame capture, and bi-directional tests you may need a more capable scan tool that supports the vehicle's ECM protocol.
P1300 is a manufacturer-specific code. The same code string on a different make may have a different meaning. Always confirm the code's definition against the vehicle's service information for the specific make and model under test.
On this Lexus the Engine Control Module (ECM) fires the ignition coils through an igniter, sending an ignition timing signal known as IGT and receiving an ignition confirmation signal known as IGF in return. DTC P1300 sets when the ECM commands ignition on the number 1 igniter circuit but does not receive the expected IGF feedback, or detects a fault in that igniter circuit. This usually means a coil or igniter that is not firing correctly or a wiring fault in the IGT or IGF circuit. When this code is stored the engine may misfire, run rough, lack power, or fail to start.
