Throttle Control Motor Circuit
P1125 — Throttle Control Motor Circuit
System: Powertrain | Type: Manufacturer-Specific | Make: Toyota
P1125 is a manufacturer-specific powertrain diagnostic trouble code recorded for Toyota vehicles. It belongs to the P-prefix family of codes, which covers engine, transmission, emissions, or fuel-system faults.
When P1125 is stored, the module has detected an electrical-circuit fault in the wiring, connector, or driver associated with the named component.
Scanning & clearing: A generic OBD-II scan tool will usually read and clear powertrain (P) codes. For live data, freeze-frame capture, and bi-directional tests you may need a more capable scan tool that supports the vehicle's ECM protocol.
P1125 is a manufacturer-specific code. The same code string on a different make may have a different meaning. Always confirm the code's definition against the vehicle's service information for the specific make and model under test.
The electronic throttle control system (ETCS) uses a DC throttle control motor, integrated into the throttle body, to position the throttle plate in response to the Engine Control Module (ECM). The ECM drives the motor with a duty cycle controlled signal through an H bridge output and monitors motor current and the resulting throttle position feedback. DTC P1125 is set when the ECM detects an electrical malfunction in the throttle control motor circuit, such as an open, a short, or the motor failing to respond as commanded. When this code is set the ECM typically opens the throttle motor circu...
