Code Information

The Park Neutral Position switch, also called the transmission range switch, tells the Engine Control Module and Transmission Control Module which gear position the selector is in, such as Park, Reverse, Neutral, or a drive range. The modules use this to permit starting only in Park or Neutral, enable reverse lights, and select the correct shift schedule.
