System: Body | Type: Manufacturer-Specific | Make: Honda
B1000 is a manufacturer-specific body diagnostic trouble code recorded for Honda vehicles. It belongs to the B-prefix family of codes, which covers body, interior, airbag, or comfort-electronics faults.
Scanning & clearing: Body (B) codes are often stored in the body control module, airbag module, or climate module. A basic OBD-II tool usually will not read body codes — an enhanced or OEM-level scan tool is typically required.
B1000 is a manufacturer-specific code. The same code string on a different make may have a different meaning. Always confirm the code's definition against the vehicle's service information for the specific make and model under test.
Honda vehicles use a multiplexed communication network (typically B-CAN for body electronics and F-CAN for powertrain and chassis) to allow modules such as the PCM, BCM/MICU, gauge control module, and SRS unit to share data. DTC B1000 is stored when the Multiplex Integrated Control Unit (MICU) or an affected module detects a total communication bus failure — no valid messages can be received or transmitted across the network. This is typically caused by a hard fault such as a short or open in the twisted-pair bus wiring, a failed terminating resistor, or a module locking the bus in a dominan...
