The intercooler temperature sensor, also called the charge air cooler outlet temperature sensor, is a negative temperature coefficient thermistor mounted in the charge pipe downstream of the intercooler on Bank 1. It shares a 5V reference and a sensor ground with the Engine Control Module (ECM), and as charge air temperature rises the thermistor resistance falls, which the ECM reads as a falling signal voltage and converts into a temperature value.
