Code Information

This DTC is set by the ABS or electronic brake control module (EBCM) when it detects a failure in the engine torque reduction request process. During traction control or stability control events, the ABS module sends a request to the engine control module (ECM) over the vehicle network to reduce engine torque and help regain grip. If the ABS module does not receive a valid acknowledgment, or if the engine does not respond as expected, this code is triggered. When this fault is present traction and stability control may be limited or disabled and the associated warning lights can illuminate.
