Code Information

The Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) monitors the brake switch circuit continuously so it always knows whether the driver is applying the brakes. The brake switch is typically a plunger type switch mounted on the brake pedal bracket that opens and closes a set of contacts as the pedal moves, and on many vehicles the same switch carries separate internal circuits for the brake lamps and for the module inputs shared with the PCM and TCM.
