Code Information

DTC B1061 is set when the airbag (SRS) control module detects a fault in the driver side airbag circuit, such as an open circuit, a short to ground, or a short to battery voltage. The control module continuously measures the resistance of the airbag inflator (squib) circuit through the clockspring and expects it to stay within a narrow specified range. B1061 sets when the measured resistance is outside that threshold for a calibrated period, indicating a loss of continuity, a high resistance connection, or an unintended short.
