Code Information

The Hybrid Vehicle Control Module (HV ECU, also called the Power Management ECU on some platforms) manages the hybrid battery main and precharge contactors that connect the high voltage battery to the inverter bus. When the vehicle is powered up, the precharge contactor closes first through a series resistor to slowly charge the inverter DC link capacitors to within a safe voltage difference of the battery, after which the main contactor closes and the precharge contactor opens.
