Code Information

On this Volkswagen application the engine control module monitors exhaust gas temperature using one or more exhaust gas temperature sensors positioned upstream of the catalytic converter, particulate filter, or turbine inlet. When the measured temperature exceeds the calibrated maximum threshold, risking damage to the turbocharger, catalytic converter, particulate filter, or exhaust valves, the module reduces fuel delivery and limits torque to bring the temperature down.
