On these Mini vehicles the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) measures intake air mass with the mass air flow (MAF) sensor and compares it against a modelled value calculated from engine speed, throttle position, and intake air temperature. DTC P115C sets when the MAF measured air mass falls below the modelled value by more than the predefined threshold for a set time during steady or changing load, indicating the sensor or the airflow path is underreporting intake air.
