Code Information

The Body Control Module (BCM) or Engine Control Module (ECM), depending on the Suzuki model and system design, controls and monitors the starting motor relay to engage the starter motor during engine cranking. When the ignition key is turned to the Start position (or the Start button is pressed on push to start systems), the control module receives a crank request input and grounds the starter relay coil, energising the relay and allowing battery voltage to flow through the main contacts to the starter solenoid.
