Scanning & clearing: A generic OBD-II scan tool will usually read and clear powertrain (P) codes. For live data, freeze-frame capture, and bi-directional tests you may need a more capable scan tool that supports the vehicle's ECM protocol.

Code Information

This code is set when the powertrain control module (PCM) detects an open or short circuit condition in the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor D or C circuit. The IAT sensor provides temperature data for air entering the intake system, which the PCM uses to optimise fuel delivery and ignition timing. An open circuit means the PCM is receiving no signal, while a short circuit results in an out-of-range high or low voltage reading.
