Code Information

The PCM monitors requests from the Instrument Panel Control Module (IPCM) over the CAN network for engine shutdown commands. When this request is received, the PCM may inhibit engine operation or command engine shutdown to protect the vehicle or occupants. The fault usually points to the IPCM or the network message rather than the PCM itself, and may present as a stall, a no start, or repeated shutdown.
