Code Information

The Body Control Module (BCM) monitors the hood ajar switch circuit to determine whether the bonnet is open or closed for the theft deterrent and vehicle security system. DTC B3006 is set when the BCM detects an implausible signal, open circuit, short to ground, or short to battery in the hood ajar switch circuit for a calibrated period. The hood ajar switch is typically a simple grounding or contact switch mounted at the bonnet latch that changes state as the bonnet opens and closes.
