ECU Malfunction
C1532 — ECU Malfunction
System: Chassis | Type: Manufacturer-Specific | Make: Lexus
C1532 is a manufacturer-specific chassis diagnostic trouble code recorded for Lexus vehicles. It belongs to the C-prefix family of codes, which covers chassis, braking, steering, suspension, or stability-control faults.
Scanning & clearing: Chassis (C) codes are stored in the ABS, traction control, or stability-control modules. An enhanced or OEM-level scan tool is usually required to read and clear them.
C1532 is a manufacturer-specific code. The same code string on a different make may have a different meaning. Always confirm the code's definition against the vehicle's service information for the specific make and model under test.
The Power Steering ECU (or applicable chassis ECU) performs continuous self-diagnostics on its internal processor, memory, and input/output circuits. DTC C1532 is stored when the ECU detects an internal malfunction such as a memory error, processing fault, or internal logic failure that cannot be attributed to an external sensor or circuit. This fault indicates that the ECU’s internal operation is unreliable and normal control of the associated system may be reduced or disabled as a fail-safe measure.
