Code Information

P1A05 is set by the Ford PCM when the desired engine speed signal it expects to receive is missing, implausible or outside the expected range. On automatic transmission applications the transmission control module requests a target engine speed from the PCM during shifts, torque converter lock up and creep control, and that request travels across the CAN bus as a periodic message. When the message stops arriving, or carries data the PCM cannot use, the code is stored, commonly with a subtype such as 93 indicating no operation or a missing message.
