The ABS hydraulic unit contains its own pump motor, which builds hydraulic pressure during ABS, traction control and stability control intervention. Power for that motor arrives at the ABS ECU on a dedicated high current feed protected by its own fusible link, and the motor is switched by a solid state motor switch built into the ABS ECU rather than by an external relay.
