Oil leak after service.

We had a 2015 Ford Kuga TDCI in for a service, nothing major however we found the sump plug to be quite different to anything we have seen before.

We proceeded to replace the O-ring with a worthy candidate, cleaned and replaced with the split pin back and carried on with the service. Two days later we get a phone call saying the vehicle has left oil everywhere and the car had activated its engine protection and shut the engine down. A tow truck trip later and the vehicle was on our hoist once again, before seeing the vehicle we were racking our brains to remember if it all went together correctly. Neither my apprentice or I could imagine us leaving anything loose. Everything was where it was supposed to be with oil running straight past it.
