Air conditioning system not working.
Owner just purchased the vehicle, was told all it required was an A/C system service and recharge.

Preliminary inspection carried out with owner present.
First item noticed was that the belt was missing.
Closer look confirmed that the A/C belt had literally disintegrated and burnt off - see Pic {{pic1}} .
Confirmed that A/C compressor had locked up.

Cause is believed to be initially a failed A/C compressor, with the system being used for some time in this state until if finally failed completely.
