The engine stalls on takeoff. Revs by itself and hunts in the revs between 600rpm and 1500rpm.

Problem Summary

When moving off from a standing start, the engine will switch off suddenly or almost stall. It then jumps up and down in the revs between 600rpm to 1500rpm as the clutch is engaged. Sometimes, when the vehicle is stationary, the idle will vary from 600 to 1500rpm, then settle back down.
