Customer Complaint

The original complaint was excessive cranking before firing up. The vehicle was now running poorly, and ended up being towed.

Problem Summary

We experienced the original problem, but could not get information or pin it down. It cranked over about three revolutions before firing up, whereas it had previously started on the first revolution.

We received some information suggesting there was a modified starter motor with extra teeth drive to make it spin faster. We removed the starter and inspected it, and, as requested, we fitted a replacement and advised the owner of very little change in the start up.

The vehicle was handed back to owner to see how it performed. That was three months before this report.
