The vehicle would not crank, and a ticking noise was heard from the throttle body when the ignition was switched on or in the start position.

The engine would not start or crank despite the battery being near new and testing okay. Voltage drop checks at the battery, starter, and fuse box showed no faults. All engine and body earths tested good. Both keys were tried, and a reset was attempted with no change. The reverse lights would occasionally come on while the vehicle was stationary, though the transmission correctly registered “Park” on the scan tool.
