While driving, the vehicle sped up to the speed limit and the ETC light came on. The brake pedal became hard, the engine revved out, and the vehicle would not accelerate.

The vehicle intermittently entered transmission limp mode, locking into 3rd or 5th gear. Dash cluster was slow to display gear position, and the scan tool displayed the vehicle in 3rd gear even when the selector and dash showed Park. Transmission temperature data was incorrect, reading 148°C when actual temperature was 78°C.
