Check engine light on, no tacho and no brakes.

After brake repairs and general service, the next morning the engine became hard to start and later would not start. The ECU was found wet and, after drying, the engine would start but would not rev past approximately 1300 rpm. A replacement ECU was sourced and coded with the key; the tacho returned and the MIL stayed off, but the engine still exhibited hard starting, brief start-then-die behaviour, and a 1300 rpm limit with no new fault codes.
