The air conditioning switches off when towing or driving at highway speeds.

When driving at around 100 km/h or under towing load, the A/C system would cycle off and engine power appeared to drop at the same time. In workshop testing, the issue could be replicated at 3000 rpm while stationary. When the viscous hub fan engaged, the engine would lose power and the A/C would switch off, even though no fault codes or warning lights appeared. Power returned immediately when the accelerator was released momentarily.
