Customer Complaint

The engine cranks but will not start. NRMA diagnosed a faulty fuel pump. After towing the vehicle to the workshop, the fuel pump was replaced but the engine still would not start.

Problem Summary

Despite correct fuel pressure and confirmed spark, the engine would only start momentarily with external fuel spray. Injector pulse was almost completely absent. A noid light flashed once on the first crank attempt and then stopped. When the ignition was cycled again immediately, there was no pulse at all. After waiting several minutes, a single flash would return, suggesting intermittent or inhibited injector control. Scan tools were unable to communicate with any control modules. The NATS (Nissan Anti-Theft System) warning light behaviour indicated an immobiliser fault. This pointed toward NATS preventing injector operation.
