The engine stalls repeatedly when cold, cutting out below 1200 rpm until driven for several minutes. Once warmed, the vehicle idles and drives normally with full power.

When cold, the engine would abruptly stall at idle as if the ignition were switched off. Holding the rpm above 1200 prevented the stall, and performance when driving was excellent. Fuel pressure, glow plug operation, engine control power supplies, and basic sensor inputs appeared normal. Disconnecting the cam sensor prevented the engine from stalling cold, strongly suggesting a cam/crank correlation issue. Scope captures later revealed abnormal timing alignment consistent with timing chain wear.
