The vehicle intermittently cranks but will not fire. At times it will start and stall immediately, while on other occasions it will continue to run normally. The battery has recently been replaced, though the reason for replacement is unknown.

The engine exhibited intermittent no-start and start-then-stall behaviour. At times the starter motor appeared to draw excessive current and the engine did not spin freely. Fuel quality was questionable, and the vehicle had been regularly run on E10. After completing all diagnostic checks, components were removed, inspected or substituted, leading to the identification of contributing issues.
