The vehicle was towed to the workshop for diagnosis. Fault code 4005 – “Intermittent cam/crank synch, variation in engine speed too sudden” was stored. Upon inspection, a large quantity of water was found in the air filter housing, suggesting possible water ingestion and resulting in hydraulic lock. After inspection and clearing of water from the intake system, the vehicle started and ran but the same fault code persisted.
