After replacing the rear brake pads and deactivating the electronic park brake (EPB) using a scan tool, the battery went flat while relaxing the left rear calliper. Once power was restored, the piston was forced out of the calliper. Following this, the park brake was locked on the driver’s side and would not apply to the left-hand calliper. The left calliper motor was running continuously for approximately 90 seconds, but only engaging briefly before releasing again.

The electronic park brake system was inoperative following brake service and loss of battery power, with one calliper seized and the other non-functional.
