Customer Complaint

No start after engine swap.

Problem Summary

After an engine swap the engine would crank strongly, briefly fire, then stall. A crankshaft position sensor fault code was logged and returned after each crank no-start. Initial checks confirmed fuel pressure, spark and injector pulse during cranking, and mechanical timing marks aligned. The fault was ultimately caused by a bent camshaft tone pickup on Bank 2 camshaft sprocket, creating an implausible cam signal and preventing synchronisation. Once corrected, the engine started normally and fault codes did not return.
