The engine intermittently shuts down under load (hills/merging/overtaking). Initial focus on the intake throttle and fuel metering valve did not resolve the concern. Data ultimately pointed to rail pressure falling below target; a broken internal spring in the high-pressure fuel pump was identified as the root cause, with one injector’s excessive leak-off contributing earlier.
