The vehicle was presented with engine running concerns. It was very low on oil, noisy, and not running correctly. Multiple fault codes were stored including P0016, P0010, P0014, and P0011. The engine was not drivable and was cutting out.

The intake camshaft reluctor ring, which was press-fitted to the camshaft, had rotated on the shaft. This caused the camshaft position sensor to provide incorrect timing data to the ECM, resulting in erratic variable valve timing operation, poor running, no idle capability, and multiple camshaft timing-related fault codes.
