The owner of a 2007 Toyota Corolla ZRE152 reported that the vehicle would not start. Prior to the no-start condition, the engine had been running rough intermittently for a few days.

The vehicle presented with a crank-no-start condition. When it could be started (sometimes requiring higher RPM cranking), the engine ran inconsistently. DTC P0340 (cam position sensor circuit) was stored and would return shortly after clearing.
