The owner of a 2010 Ford Falcon FG reported that the vehicle would not idle when placed in reverse or drive. The engine revs dropped to approximately 500 RPM before stalling. On startup, the idle hunted briefly before settling, though the engine ran normally at higher RPM.

The vehicle presented with an unstable idle and stalling condition when a transmission load was applied. DTC P1383 (camshaft over-retarded, bank 1) was stored and returned after approximately one hour of driving following a code clear.
