Fault code P0401 — EGR system insufficient flow detected. The EGR system was experiencing restricted exhaust gas flow due to carbon buildup in the steel pipe running from the EGR valve to the inlet manifold. The pipe has several bends making it difficult to visually inspect for blockages. Additionally, the MAF sensor was contaminated and the air filter was excessively dirty, both contributing to incorrect airflow readings that compounded the EGR flow fault.
