The vehicle was presented with a wiper fault and would not crank.

The vehicle came in for a wiper fault. The original battery went flat during testing and was replaced, after which the engine would not crank. The starter could be made to operate by linking out the start relay, confirming the starter motor and its heavy cabling were serviceable and placing the fault in the relay control side of the circuit.
